For once, not feeling afraid of being overdressed and letting your dress speak louder than the fireworks outside.
For me, New Years Eve has always been that one occasion where I can dress up to the 9’s and no one can say anything about it. Whether you’re staying in with family and friends watching the countdown, out at your local pub, restaurant, or partying the night away in town, you just want to feel that extra little bit special.
Personally I don’t wear a lot of sparkle or embellishments in my outfits, finding most items to be too cheap or tacky looking. But this dress instantly captivated me with it’s simmering, snow like glitter and dainty embellished beads and lustfully the words ‘I have to have you’ slipped out of my lips. It truly was love at first sparkle. It’s 70’s bell sleeves and shift style fit also meant I felt free to bust a few dance moves and not have to worry about any signs of a food baby showing.
This New Year’s Eve was a bit of a quiet one for me, but just how I wanted it be all along. It was a reminder that such night’s are meant for being around those people who truly make you smile, laugh and feel loved. And to truly just enjoy the moment, celebrate and hug those around you when the clock strikes 12, regardless of whether you’re out on the town or sat on the sofa at home.
And for once, not feeling afraid of being overdressed and letting your dress speak louder than the fireworks outside (cue Katy Perry song).
Happy New Years, and here’s to 2016.
