A Moment with Sleeves

Fashion is definitely having a fling with sleeves at the moment. Whether they are puffed, ruffled or billowed, one thing is for sure: they are far from the ordinary. Although I am also partial to a good billow sleeve, they are prone to dipping in your food at lunch or worse, in your afternoon coffee and so therefore, I have chosen to have my sleeves billow out on my arms instead. A more practical and less messy solution I feel.

Gingham is definitely a huge trend for SS17, seen on the catwalks at Henry Holland, Shrimps and Molly Goddard (three of my favourite London designers FYI) and so expect to be seeing it everywhere in the shops as we finally enter the warmer season of Spring.

The beginning of the warmer season was always a happy time for 6 year old Heather, as I could finally bring out my matching gingham summer dress and scrunchie. I LOVED that dress. In fact, I can still recall that feeling of utter disappointment when I realised that I couldn’t wear a gingham dress in High School. Although I don’t have the matching scrunchie to go with this outfit, I’m glad that I’ve found another way to add the gingham print into my adult wardrobe.

Anyway guys, it’s been a minute. How are you all? I’ve had a crazy past month. The beginning of the month was met with a deadline for my dissertation, and finished with a hectic 5 days of London Fashion Week. Needless to say, I’ve felt like I’ve been running to catch up with myself at times. For those of you who were following along on my Insta (if not, then don’t miss out next time @atelierofstyle) then you will have seen all the daily updates and daily recaps that I was doing over there on my Instastory.

It was my first Fashion Week and so needless to say, it was a mad one. Filled with 4/5 shows a day, after parties and lunch meetings I really did fill up my boots! I can’t wait to share with you the content, I even did snap some of my photography at the shows that you’ll have already seen a bit of on my Instagram.

Also I’d love to know, what kind of content do you guys like seeing the most from Fashion Week? I personally love the daily recaps or ‘day in the life’ that I’ve seen Chriselle Lim do, as well as the outfit posts from Aimee Song. But tell me, what do you like seeing the most? Leave a comment below!
