NAMASTE

definition : // ‘The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another.’

I’ve always been a book nerd and an avid reader, I think it stems from my joy and interest in acting and performing since a young age. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more and more interested in non-fiction books and specifically those that are categorised as ‘self-help’. I just find them so interesting to read and I’m always trying to better myself and thoughts each and every day. Our thoughts are so powerful that I think it’s so vital that we become more aware of what we are thinking to ensure that we are only sending out good vibrations into the world.

I could go on forever talking about the law of attraction and the benefits of meditation. But what I’m really here to tell you is that I am now a true practitioner of Yoga (can I call myself a Yogi yet?). I tried to complete Yoga With Adriene’s 30 Days of Yoga back in the spring and got far, but I wasn’t truly dedicated to it. I decided to try it again, inspired by Matt Cutts that if I did it for 30 days then it would become a habit. And he was right!

It was my boyfriend who inspired me to get back into it as he was preaching the benefits (I’m still not half as dedicated as he is) and with my background in dancing, it seemed to be a form of exercise that I would really enjoy and at ease with in terms of posture. In 30 days I have noticed:

  • Generally feeling stronger, especially in abdomen and upper arms.
  • More energy after a session.
  • Relives feelings of anxiety, depression. Left feeling calmer.
  • Feel lighter, healthier and more toned.

But for now, Nama’stay in Bed 😉
