BLACK OPIUM TUX

It’s a delicate mixing of lace with suede, a reminder that you are your own boss.

I do actually have a bit of trouble with the word sexy as a female, why does everything have to be ‘sexy’ all the time? But I’ve come to define the term myself as something that adds a bit of ‘je ne said qois’. Gives that little bit extra to an outfit, something unexpected that comes across as outrageously daring.

For me it’s that hint of skin somewhere unexpected, or perhaps its barely no skin showing at all? It’s a delicate mixing of lace with suede, a reminder that you are your own boss.

I’ve spoken about scents and their mystic powers before, each potion individually made, awaiting for us to unleash it’s powers out of the pot. But there is one scent that all us girls want to have in our collection, and that’s the spell that brings out our inner dark, confident goddess. Or maybe perhaps, just our badass female selves.

Black Opium certainly, for me, is synonymous with YSL’s Le Smoking tuxedo suit as they both offer it’s wearer that same sense of powerfulness, daring and courageousness with just a touch of sexiness.

Being your own boss is a bit of a strange thing (but fantastic too, may I also add). It’s an ability to set yourself tasks and responsibilities whilst also cutting yourself some slack every now and then. It’s something I’m having to come to terms with, this internal opposition in myself, as I am that type of person who can’t stand having nothing to do but takes an extra 30 mins to lie in bed in the morning.

I have however, found that waking up in the early morning, doing exercise, getting showered and dressed straight away helps give me a jumpstart to my day. I’m all about lazy days and minimal makeup, but it’s doing whatever you do to feel good that day that can make you feel empowered to start the day and get sh*t done.

I’ve been home for almost a week now, and it’s only about another week around ’til Christmas! I’m baffled at how time has flown. I’m still not feeling top notch, super tired and oddly wanting to drink a tonne of water (least I’m craving the good stuff) but it’s making it super hard to get out of bed and kickstart my day. The weather is also so cold up north! Are you sure humans aren’t meant to hibernate over the winter too? But I can say that, a spray of a perfume usually saved for special occasions and a black tux certainly gets me out of bed.
