Downtown

So I have to say, I brought the completely wrong closet back home with me from London. Whilst I was feeling the sweat from just walking into town and back in shorts and a tank top, I’d probably and most definitely give myself some form of hypothermia up here.

So I’ve fallen back to my staples, a clean colour palette and trainers. After finishing my month of interning, I found myself a bit of a lost. See, getting up and going into work meant that I would have to take the time to properly get myself dressed in the morning and do the full works and to be honest, I really enjoyed it! But whilst I’m doing work from home, I find that I often don’t put my makeup on or style my hair, and I begun to realise that slowly, after a few days makeup free, I stopped feeling myself.

Now, I am totally not opposed to a makeup free day… most days I do in fact, whenever it calls for it. But not getting myself made up for the day left me feeling not my usual perky and confident self, and I knew I had to make an effort.

This is what is the beauty of makeup is for me. I feel so privileged as a girl who has the decision and ability to change her outlook by who I decide to create myself to be that day. That doesn’t have to mean that everyday is a bold look, in fact I think just as much effort – if not more – is gone into creating that natural, no ‘makeup’ makeup look, which is what I decided to channel this day.

What do you do to perk yourself up on days when you aren’t feeling yourself?
