How to Transition your Dresses to the Fall + Black Friday Discount

If you have been following my blog for a while now, then I’m sure that you’ll be more than aware that dresses are an absolute staple in my closet. Rather than just saving them for formal occasions, I wear them throughout the day with trainers or heeled boots, although not looking quite as cool as Lily Allen circa 2006.

I don’t know if it’s possible for any of us to forget the Chloe SS15 show. The delicate folklore lace dresses paired with gladiator thigh highs, to billowing peasant tops that look like they’ve just come out of Woodstock and maxi dresses that floated behind you in the wind, held up by thin camisole straps. It truly sits in my mind as one of my favourite yet with many others clearly thinking the same as I’ve seen a tonne of inspired pieces over the high street.

I’m not usually one to pick pieces that are so similar to their original designer look-a-like (although you can’t necessarily get it away from it on the high street), sometimes the quality can look cheap and not well made. So when I spotted this piece, it was literally love at first sight and to my delight, the quality is SO lovely!

So, seen as though my love and obsession for dresses isn’t going away anytime soon, despite the winter’s chill quickly settling in, what am I to do about the line of pretty dresses I have hanging up? Well, I certainly ain’t giving up wearing this beauty anytime soon.

In fact this in between season means that we can make the most of our wardrobe. We can mix our shoulder baring tops and dresses with large, snuggly jumpers with a coat layered on top. Or an oversized turtleneck can look amazing with a leather miniskirt and thigh highs… the possibilities are endless!

So that’s exactly the look and feel I wanted to get with this dress. Although the dress is simply stunning and doesn’t deserve to be fully covered, with it’s lace back detail and drop sleeves, I thought I’d show you how I’d style this for a casual, Autumn stroll around the city day. I love how a dress can easily be dressed down with the addition of a grey cardigan, worn off the shoulders for that romantic winter walk home through the streets of Paris vibe.

What are your favorite in-transition combinations? I’d love to hear what looks you’re currently loving in the comments below!
