I’ve come to realise that it’s this mix of masculine and feminine pieces in an outfit that I appreciate and find the most interesting and complex.

I think I’ve managed to find another staple item for my wardrobe. Fashion recently had a moment with the ultra ripped boyfriend jeans, you know the ones that literally had one humongous hole at the front (and yes I totally was tempted) and now I’m lusting after a dark wash jean with absolutely no rips at all. As funny and ironic as the boyfriend jean may sound, it’s actually such a classic piece as it can get reworked over and over again. Contrary to what you’ve recently seen on the blog, I didn’t use to be such an advocate lover of jeans. Especially baggy or flared, I think if you were born in the mid 90’s then you most likely were a fangirl and worshipper of the skinny jean. But as I mentioned in a post way back in the summer, the skinny jean truly is OUT.
I’ve come to realise that it’s this mix of masculine and feminine pieces in an outfit that I appreciate and find the most interesting and complex, even if they are just composed of individually simple basics. The baggy jeans and strappy heel a good example of this and one that I think most of us girls agree on. And oddly something that I think confuses most men, I always recall this video with Leandra Medine – from Man Repeller – and her husband that cracks me up when he explains why he doesn’t like the look. Just anything that looks confusing and difficult to wear right? Haha! I did a whole marathon of her video’s and recommend you go and watch her YouTube videos! Guaranteed a good laugh.
Anyhoo I must get packing for tomorrow! Instead I’m sat on my laptop writing this blog post, listening to Dej Loaf with my earphones in on full blast lip synching to myself feeling sasssssssy. That’s what Thursday nights are for!
