It’s not often that you’ll see me in colour, but as soon as the warm weather comes creeping in through the grey clouds I’m attracted to anything that has that fiery orange/red colour in. Maybe I’m just dreaming of tropical hot islands, Caribbean sunsets and parties on the beach somewhere in Spain around a campfire, that’s what this colour makes me think of. I just need the, currently non-existent, tan to go with it… 

Walking around London on this incredibly beautiful evening, watching all the kids play around the foundation at Trafalgar Square felt like I had been lifted out of the UK and placed in some different world. There’s just something so romantic about a summer’s evening, where people come together to breathe in the fresh air and walk underneath the sun’s final rays. I think these images capture that stillness within the busy city and the warm colours of a setting sun, sometimes I forget how much I love London for those precious moments. A moment of stillness within the energetic city life.

I think it’s so important to allow yourself to feel all your emotions when moments like this happen. To be aware of the goose bumps on your forearms and hairs prickling on your back, to feel that sense of awe and wonder within a place you’ve visited so many times before but never felt this feeling. We all have a capacity to dream, and dreaming is so important. To lift ourselves out of the ordinary when life can seem so mundane, and to recognise it is far from. Miracles happen all the time, every day if we allow them to. Just take a look at where we are. I don’t mean your house, street, town, city or country. I mean within the universe. We exist within a miracle and at those moments that we feel elevated and alive, we should embrace every sensation and treasure each moment.

It’s that reason why I love the sunlight and the magical sunsets that the spring and summer months bring.

They bring the city alive.
