*Deconstructivist : // ‘the idea of items being taken from their original state and ripped apart, pulled at the seams, stretched and super-sized to the max’.
In creating my style ‘outfit’ posts, I truly do want to show you in the images my personal taste in fashion, through the styling of my outfits that I ensure are pieces in my wardrobe that I truly adore. Sometimes, it’s an item I don’t wear that often but that I have fun with experimenting and styling. These items tend to have more of an editorial feel to them as I enjoy creating a concept around a shoot, a feel and a look that I want to communicate across to you. Scouting and creating a location that seems harmonious with the outfit and the effect I am trying to create. But I also want to be truthful in showcasing the clothes I wear often and sometimes, these items get overlooked as items that are just considered ‘nothing special’, or nothing wroth mentioning.
Recently, this comfy outfit has been my absolute go to. You’ve seen these jeans before when I paired them with some strappy heels (an excellent combination), but truthfully they are usually just worn with my black cowboy boots on an everyday basis and yet they still make me feel like
As I came to write this post, I realised that the outfit I’ve been wearing for the past few weeks has actually been the exact kind of ‘look’ that I’ve written about for my SS15 trend feature at Uni! Oh, the irony. I named the article Deconstructivist, with the idea of items being taken from their original state and ripped apart, pulled at the seams, stretched and super-sized to the max. This is truly witnessed here with the distressed and baggy boyfriend jeans – where the holes are continuing to stretch larger and larger every time I bend my knees – and my beloved masculine grey coat that just perfectly skims the sides of my jeans.
So here’s to you, my trusty go-to outfit. The one that is always there for me, but perhaps I hadn’t given my appreciation to yet. It’s your time to shine. Merry Christmas everyone!
