There couldn’t be a better time to do so, now that we don’t have to worry about regular posting on social media for another week or so until everyone begins suffering from social media withdrawal symptoms.
Whenever I want to set myself a new task, goal or self improvement change in lifestyle or attitude I’m a firm believer in starting the set goal straight away. Otherwise we set it aside and a humble ‘I’ll start Monday’ turns into a ‘Oh well, I’ll just start tomorrow’ when we haven’t managed to hit the gym Monday morning. So as each New Year rolls around, I get a bit sceptical about the idea of creating a New Years Resolution.
But I cannot shake the undeniable feeling inside of me of a new beginning being just around the corner. It genuinely feels as if everyone has hit the refresh button, and the continuous festive cheer for the next week after Christmas is overwhelming contagious. The festive period also feels like the only time in the year when EVERYONE truly takes a break from their social media accounts. Going on Instagram on Christmas Day is the only day of the year when I can scroll through my feed and manage to get back to the last post I saw. The feelings is truly satisfying. Like seriously, when does that ever happen when you now follow close to a 1000 people!? Just don’t be expecting to be snooping on what any of your favourite Instagrammers are doing during this period (*sad face*).
Another reason I get sceptical about setting goals is that I am a massive planner at heart. I can’t tell you the amount of notebooks I have that haven’t been touched with any ink, but yet still give me a big thrill just from looking at them. The thing is, it’s no use planning if you don’t DO. Making that, my number 1 goal for this New Years Resolution. DO-ing things, not just planning them. See, I feel so optimistic about 2016 I just can’t stop myself from setting a few plans! After all, there couldn’t be a better time to do so, now that I don’t have to worry so much about regular posting on social media for another week or so until everyone begins suffering social media withdrawal symptoms.
So I’m going to take this opportunity to do my research, plan, set goals and then I’m prepared, set and raring to go for 2016. I’m coming to get cha’.
