When it gets so cold that it’s all about comfort and staying warm. So long as you’ve made a slight effort with hair and makeup, the rest is just a good practice of layering skills.
I do feel recently as though I have been creating less exciting stylistic looks, and instead wanting to share more of the outfits that I am genuinely are wearing on a day to day basis. Thankfully I think I have managed to retain a mixture of the both by having a backlog of some images that were created last month that I had yet to share with you! What do you guys think, is it a good mix?
But I think that this has come to me developing my personal style and really nailing what my style is at this current moment in time. I really do only have those few specific items in constant rotation at the moment. Also, it’s freezing cold outside AND it’s been snowing!! So I think that justifies me not wanting to stand outside in anything over than jeans, a massive coat and scarf right now. But how exciting is it to see some snow settling on the ground and glittering underneath the streetlamps at night! So magical.
I was listening to Alexa Chung on the Oh Boy! Podcast by Man Repeller, and both herself and Leandra Medine made a good point that when the weather gets freezing cold, it’s all about the comfort. Just make sure you’re not equally having a bad hair, and then you look more than presentable given the circumstances. It also means I’m developing my skills of layering and hopefully shall soon have attained Zhang worthy layering credit (the ultimate).
These images were taken when I went home last weekend, and boy was that such a nice refresh for me! Ever since I’ve been back I’ve been 100% motivated and I’ve literally been in the library Every. Single. Day. I especially love coming on a weekend when there’s barely anyone here and I don’t feel any peering eyes of fellow students all over my computer screen (does anyone else feel that?).
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and continue to stay inspired!
