SADDLE UP

Spring is perhaps one of the happiest times in the year for me. I instantly conjure up images of a field of bright yellow daffodils, dreamy blood orange sunsets and still getting to see sunlight on the commute home from work. Spring time also is time for a refresh, and I was in desperate need of a new bag. I’m currently reading the infamous Marie Kondo book ‘The Life Changing Magic of Tidying’ and – although slightly late to the party – Marie makes some timeless comments on how we treat the items in our closet which we use the most… and that’s usually with little care. The bag which I have been using for the past year is beginning to feel and look a little worn and old as it’s lost its structure and shape and overall, could do with a bit of TLC.

For the past year, I too, have been lusting after the Chloe Saddle bags ever since they released and saw countless high street replicas that copied the designer item itself. Although I’m all for pieces on the high street that are ‘inspired by’ and similar to its designer counterpart, I feel like a total fake wearing an item that so obnoxiously looks like a twin rather than sister copy. And so, I held off purchasing one and let the craze settle down a little bit until, I found my perfect bag!

It seemed almost too good to be true that as soon as I was ready to change up my current everyday bag, that this one came in my path!

I instantly fell for its 70s spirit, warm beige colour palette and contrasting textures. This saddle bag is the perfect mix of feminine and masculine, swinging effortlessly from day to night. As I’m personally not a fan of tight, bodycon ‘party’ dresses, I usually tend to pick and choose my outfits with pieces that can transition well between the day and evening, just swapping out my shoes and jacket to instantly take my look through to the night. I wanted to show you just how easy and versatile this bag is by styling it in two outfits, one in a more relaxed daytime attire and the other in an outfit I’d wear out for the evening.

I have literally been wearing this bag non-stop since I got it and wished I had bought myself one sooner! What is your idea of a perfect bag? Leave me a comment below!
