It’s not often that I do review type post here on the blog, and in all fairness I wouldn’t say this is a review, but more of my favourite health/cookbooks that I’ve recently found and am dying to share with you all.
If you have watched my recent Youtube video, then you will know that last November I started a plant based/vegan diet. Now, I really don’t want to make a disclaimer (as I know you’re all lovely people), but just in case someone gets the wrong end of the stick… I’m not here to preach to you that I’m a vegan and nor am I here to try and push you into anything, other than perhaps informing of you of some books that can help us all enjoy a healthy and delicious diet. All of these books are vegetarian based recipes and most of them, in my experience, are fairly easy to cook! And that says a lot, coming from me.
Healthy eating is not about losing weight or counting calories, it’s about fueling your body with the nutrients it needs to flourish and creating good habits. We live in a world that is full of processed, ready-made food and often we are not taught in school the proper nutrients that our body really needs. We should be taught how our food is REALLY made and we should KNOW what we are putting into our body, as knowledge truly is power. I am not here promoting a diet, but rather encouraging a lifestyle that consists of mainly eating plant based foods as often as possible for a ‘food diet’ that is fulfilling and nourishing. A lot of these books also opened me up to the true, alarming facts of sugar and how much of it is in our food. As a result, I have managed to slowly stop myself from putting sugar in my coffee and try to satisfy my sweet tooth as much as I can with fruit. I hope that at least one of these books will help you to learn something new about food and encourage you to try something new!
Let me know what your favourite books are in the comments below and if you try any of the recipes!

The Body Book, Cameron Diaz
This isn’t a cookbook, but it’s an absolute godsend of a guide to nutrition and feeding your body. This book is really informative and it’s almost like having a fun biology lesson (if there ever could be such a thing). The book isn’t just on nutrition either, there are two other sections on Fitness and the Mind. This book completely makes you re-think how you’ve previously viewed your body, and for the better! I wish this book was a required staple in everyone’s house as I really do believe that this is information that we should all know.
