Military Jacket and Three Strap Shoes

Technically speaking, seen as though I took these images before December, does that mean that I’m ahead of the military jacket trend… EVEN if I didn’t post the images? Ah, who am I kidding! Nothing counts in the digital realm unless you have a photo of it, and especially if you didn’t post it on social within 24 hours of that day. But hey ho! Here we are.

It’s been a mad, hectic few weeks after Christmas. I kinda feel like I’m only just getting my feet back on the ground after Christmas break which is crazy. This year I feel like I truly took a break and spent time with my family and friends, even though my intentions were to do a lot of work… it’s just difficult when you’re back at home comforts!

Anyhoo, I got this jacket in a thrift store in WhiteChapel around 2 years ago. I’m not sure what it was about it that drew me in, but I just loved the shape and fit of it and the skull pin that had been left on from it’s previous owner. You have seen me wear in this an old blog post and I just haven’t had the will strength to chuck it out. I think I must’ve had an inkling that this jacket would save me a few extra dollars when it next comes a hot trend.

I don’t often do well with thrifted pieces, but I’ll pack myself on the back with this one… even if it does have   a few holes in the pocket. I paired it with these three strap pumps (similar to the Louis Vuitton pairing) that have this eerie Victorian feel about them, I’m not too sure my thoughts on them yet. What do you guys think? I decided to pair them with some fishnet socks as I couldn’t find my fishnet tights, and although they do cut off your leg – making you appear smaller – I quite like the effect!
