Leather trousers are the perfect transitional piece for Autumn and make a nice change from my usual straight-leg jeans for something more chic and refined. Alas, the straight leg style is my go-to at the moment and I’ve been searching for the perfect pair in a faux leather. I struggle a lot with wearing stiff materials due to my body shape (I prefer something more stretchy for comfort!), but these trousers from Mango fit like an absolute dream and are super comfy to wear. The paper bag waist really helps to bring in the waist to create a more flattering silhouette and is perfect for tucking in sweaters and baggy tops.
On this day, I met with my gorgeous friend Jess and we shot these on her new 24-70mm lens which is SUPER creamy and lovely. Needless to say, I think these are some of my favorite images that I’ve shot in a while! It’s easy to be super critical of yourself and overanalyze everything that you’re doing and creating, so I’m trying to focus on finding the fun in it again and try and enjoy the freedom of being a ‘beginner’ (if you haven’t watched Steve Jobs talk at Stanford University then you MUST).
I also think that coming from a Fashion Journalism background, I have a tendency to view every post as a written article. Which in some ways, I want to leverage as something that makes me different to everyone else, but it actually just ends up putting unnecessary pressure on my articles. So I’m going to set a word count limit for outfit posts, after all, is anyone actually reading my ramblings? If you do, comment down below with ‘badger’ – don’t ask why, it was the first thing that came into my head!
I hope you’re having a lovely week so far, I feel like we’re really getting into the holiday season now that we’ve passed Halloween and Bonfire Night. They weren’t particularly busy holidays for me this year, but I’d love to hear what you got up to! Seeing all the Christmas decorations going up in London is making me feel so festive and cheerful.
