Ms Trunchball at LFW with Amazon Fashion

london fashion week aw18 outfit inspiration

I can’t quite believe that another fashion month has come and gone. It only seems like yesterday that I was prepping for the busy start of AW18 (You can see one of last years looks here). As you may or may not know, my full time job as a Runway Trend Analyst requires me to go through all  four cities: New York, London, Milan and Paris and create city trend overviews. So safe to say, I’m well under a mountain of 5000+ images by now.

Tom Ford kicked off New York for me. His shows are always decadent, sexy and make me feel like I’ve stepped into a Hollywood film. The sequinned leopard print tuxedo suits set the tone for the rest of the cities as glitter and sequins were amped up and animal mania had the fashion industry go barking mad – be sure to invest in that leopard print coat for Autumn/Winter NOW. I equally loved the clash of prints at 3.1 Phillip Lim and not forgetting the incredible Rosie Assoulin whose collections are always a seasonal favorite.

As for London Fashion Week, I attended the Edeline Lee presentation for my third time, which I’m always delighted to attend. This season, I LOVED all the bright bursts of color: vibrant reds, purples and greens in full head-to-toe looks. The floral jacquard suit also caught my attention too.

Obviously, Jacquemus was a clear favorite from the start. I am OBSESSED with the SS18 collection, and this one didn’t disappoint. Along with the announcement of menswear, how exciting! I can’t wait to see what he’ll bring to the scene. I’m also loving what Natacha Ramsay-Levi is doing at Chloe – such a strong collection!

As for my look, I’ve been loving the belt around the waist styling that we’ve been seeing a lot both on the runways and street recently. More commonly styled with a belt bag by designers, a belt can do just the same trick of synching in the waist of oversized blazers. For me, I wanted a way to update my trusty check blazer and paired it with some wide leg jeans – both from Amazon’s own fashion brand, Find. If you haven’t checked them out then you definitely should (here’s the link), they have some amazing, good qaulity pieces that are on trend and at an affordable price. I paired with a black turtleneck and these amazing statement red, latex boots.
